Point Lookout Lighthouse
Rocking in the Living Room, April 2002
In April 2002, we were investigating the lighthouse, recording and taking pictures in the North Side Living room. I was sitting in the northeast corner on a pile of boards that were about half as wide as I am, with Laura to my left and Hillary to my right. I was sitting with my legs crossed and my elbows resting on my thighs. I noticed that I was rocking back and forth ever so slightly, maybe only one inch total movement back and forth. I asked Hillary to take my picture, but nothing unusual showed up. Then the rocking stopped as abruptly as it had begun. I sat perfectly still and a few minutes later I began rocking again. After a minute or so, the rocking stopped and would not continue, no matter how much we asked for it to continue! When I mentioned that I felt like a rocking chair, Laura told me that she used to have a rocking chair in the corner of the room where I was seated. |

Comments | I could not think of a rational reason to explain why I was rocking. I didn't feel like I was being pushed and I didn't feel a presence around me. Prior to the rocking, Hillary was attempting to stir up the ghosts by saying she was a yankee and to pull her hair to prove the ghosts were present. |
