Point Lookout Lighthouse Open House 

The open house will be held from 12 to 4 on November 2nd, however, no entrance to the lighthouse will be allowed because of safety concerns due to the ongoing renovations.  Two tents will be placed outside the fence of the lighthouse with the US Lighthouse Society (USLHS) in one tent and a television with the Discovery Channel Special segment about Point Lookouts hauntings in the other tent.   My personal advice would be to skip this year's Open House, in the hopes that either next year's open house will allow access or the renovations will be complete and the lighthouse will be open for more than one day a year (in the very near future). 

I apologize for the lateness of this news posting, however,  I only received final confirmation today.

Thank you for your interest in Point Lookout Lighthouse, and while it is very disappointing that the lighthouse won't be open for tours, it is good news in that the badly needed repairs are moving forward.   The protective wrapping was removed from the cupola today, and the preservation and final painting of the cupola is almost complete.
