Herman Metivier

Herman Metivier was Assistant Keeper from 1939 until 1943, and Keeper from 1943 until he retired in 1954.

Zaddock Sturgis was Assistant Keeper from 1943 through 1954, and Keeper from 1954 until he retired in 1956 on medical disability.

William Yeatman (1871-1908)

Served the longest term as keeper, and died at Point Lookout. His son Percy held the keeper position for 1 month after William's death so the family could have time to move to nearby housing.

Ron Yeatman Wedding

Ron Yeatman and Linda Gross wed on the steps of the Point Lookout Lighthouse on November 29, 2002. The Yeatman family has a long history at Point Lookout, with William Yeatman serving the longest term from 1871 until 1908; his son Percy served for a month after his father's death until a replacement could be named. William Yeatman (son of keeper William Yeatman 1871-1908) returned to the lighthouse to serve as assistant keeper from 1931 until 1939. Photos courtesy of Ted Yeatman.
